Annual Agency Conference



On Thursday September 18, 2014 The Food Bank for Westchester will be hosting the fifteenth annual Agency Conference, a training conference for member agencies who are fighting hunger in Westchester County. This important capacity building conference offers staff and volunteers of the agencies training and technical assistance.

The conference will provide attendees with training in:

  • Grant Writing
  • Advocacy
  • Current trends in emergency food service and nutrition

Breakfast and lunch will be included

Jim Weill - Key Note SpeakerKey Note Speaker for this year's Agency Conference will be Jim Weill, President of the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC). Jim has been President of the FRAC since February 1998. He has devoted his entire professional career to reducing hunger and poverty, protecting the legal rights of children and poor people, and expanding economic security, income and nutrition support programs and health insurance coverage. He has also generously offered to lead a workshop on advocacy and government relations.

Integral to the Food Bank’s mission is to assist the staff and volunteers of our member agencies and programs, who are on the frontline fighting hunger, to be more efficient and effective. The Food Bank monitors and inspects all member agencies and programs to enforce food safety regulations and to assist with the efficient distribution of food to the hungry.
